PRODUCT INFORMATION

A canvas made entirely from recycled plastic bottles! Delivered ready for hanging.

Canvas:

330gsm satin canvas stretched over a frame and finished by hand.

Frame:

Made from kiln-dried, sustainably sourced European pine. Finger-joints create corner tension, which resists warping. Internal corner system keeps corners neat and tidy, eliminating messy folds.
Depth from wall: 38mm

Artwork:

Printed with 12-colour Giclée process using water-based archival inks. "Museum-wrapped" (white edges) so entire composition is printed on canvas face.

Production:

Made-to-order in UK, EU, US, and AU. Please allow approx. 3-6 days for production, plus delivery.

Shipping:

Ships worldwide in corrugated cardboard box made from recycled materials.

Installation:

Canvases are meant to sit flush against the wall. The best method is to hang the canvas frame on two nails, each protruding 1/2" from the wall. Put these nails one third from each side of the canvas, at the same level.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Approximately 2,000 bird species assist with the pollination of different plants, especially in tropical areas where birds are more abundant, and in extreme deserts and high altitude regions where insects are scarce. These include honeycreepers, honeyeaters, orioles, parrots, spiderhunters, sugarbirds, sunbirds, white-eyes, and hummingbirds, which service thousands of plant species across the Americas. At high elevations, especially in tropical cloud forests, hummingbirds are more effective pollinators than bees because they are less hindered by humid conditions and low temperatures. But hummingbird pollination is also widely reported in temperate zones where bees predominate. In North America alone, scientists have documented 70 plant lineages which have switched from bee to hummingbird pollination by evolving elaborate traits to attract hummingbirds. This is why it is extremely important to conserve the native biodiversity of an ecosystem. If a hummingbird loses the plant it has co-evolved with, it can no longer survive and vice-versa. Support bird-assisted pollination by protecting bird habitats through various conservation programs, choosing native plants for landscaping, eliminating the use of insecticides, and supporting bird-friendly agricultural practices.

MEASUREMENTS & CONVERSIONS

Shopping for framed prints? The size listed does not include the width of the picture frame. Also, please note that mounted prints are slightly smaller than unmounted prints, because they must be scaled down to fit the mount window.
